Washington Redskins' Jon Jansen May Lose His Spot To Stephon Heyer

Current starting right tackle Jon Jansen, who has been a Redskin longer than any other current player, has had a very poor pre-season, letting defensive ends run right by him many times.

Jansen received a hefty contract extension after the 2006 season, but he broke and dislocated his ankle in game one of the 2007 season, forcing him to sit out the entire year.  Now he's healthy, but has in no way been playing like his old self.

Stephon Heyer, who is entering his second season in the NFL, played well against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night.

Coach Zorn has now notified the media that Jansen's starting spot may be up for grabs.  I assume Jansen may start against the Giants on September 4th, and if he plays poorly, we can expect to see Heyer starting in week two against the New Orleans Saints.
