If the stories in today’s newspapers are true then it seems that Manchester United seem to be close to signing Spain Under-21 International, David De Gea.

The ‘keeper who plays for Spanish side, Athletico Madrid has been linked with many top European clubs over the past year and Manchester United seems to be winning the race to sign the hot prospect.

The rumoured figure seems to be in the region of fifteen million pound for the 20 year old.

With the decline of Edwin Van Der Sar evident it seems that United need a new number one, as Kuszczak is unlikely to fill the void.

Whereas neither club has confirmed a deal, The Times believes talks are in advanced stages after months of negotiations.

However, it is unclear that if the transfer does go ahead, then will De Gea move in January or finish the season in Madrid, leaving Van Der Sar to have one last Hurrah.

If Kuszczack was to leave then another player linked with United is Danish goalkeeper, Anders Lindeguard, who United have been known to have scouted in the past.
