IconSo we all know the Raiders are suffering from probably the worse 5-year stretch in franchise history.

And we all know they have a stable of up and coming players. And don't forget they also have a very young offensive minded coach in Lane Kiffin.

So what's the problem?

Our good old friend, Mr. Davis—the impossible to get rid of—the virus of the Oakland Raiders.

It seems no matter how good the players are, or how good the coaches are, there is something that pulls on the Raiders chances at success like a dog leash.

That would be Al Davis.

For years and years, Al has done nothing but get in the way of "his" team's success. And now he vows not to retire until the team gets two more Super Bowl wins! That's not going to happen with him behind the wheel.

Let's see, what happened to Marcus Allen? Ah yes, Al drove him out of Oakland by benching him.

Where did Mike Shanahan go? That's right: Al had a little money issue—so Mike went to Denver and had great success there.

And then there was "Chucky." He got traded to Tampa Bay like a player.

Not to mention the other three coaches Al went through before stumbling upon Lane Kiffin.

If Al wants whats best for the Raiders, he has to step down and let the coaches do what they do best.

But so long as Al is still on the throne, I don't see the Raiders doing much of anything.
