Eva Longoria is rumored to be divorcing Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs, and the media (myself included) is having a field day with this story.
Who officially ended it?
Why did they end it?
Could it all be a hoax?
Yes, this story broke just over 12 hours ago, but it is already the most talked about rumor of the week.
And it got me thinking...
Haven't we been here before?
It seems like new sports rumors pop up on a weekly basis, and we just can't get enough of the drama.
Here are 10 sports rumors that we just can't stop talking about.
Has Lance Armstrong ever used performance-enhancing drugs?
Several people, including U.S. Postal teammate Floyd Landis, have claimed that the seven-time Tour de France winner had been using steroids throughout his career.
Back in 2004, two reporters published a book detailing Armstrong's alleged drug use, and these allegations were reprinted in The Sunday Times.
Armstrong sued the paper for libel, and the two parties settled out of court.
No evidence to support any of these claims has been found, but that doesn't stop people from trying to bash Lance Armstrong.
It is really interesting that a woman with seemingly minimal talent has become such a big name in the worlds of sports and entertainment.
Okay so she's hot, and she dated a few hot athletes.
But that's about it.
So why can't we stop talking about her?
Cliff Lee has been one of the biggest names in recent Major League Baseball news, and now that he has reached free agency, everyone is dying to know what his next move will be.
Will he become a New York Yankee?
Will he stay in Texas?
Or is there another team out there that could shock the nation and add Lee to its roster?
Cliff Lee isn't the only free agent in the majors at the moment, but it sure seems like it.
Will Melo join the Knicks?
Could he stay in Denver?
We just can't get enough of the Carmelo Anthony rumors (mostly because we're all secretly hoping that he ends up on our favorite team).
We get it. Joe Pa is old, but it's time to stop burying the man before he's dead.
It seems like at the start of every college football season in recent years has brought some new rumor of Paterno's possible retirement.
Just stop it.
He'll retire when he wants to. Period.
This was one of my favorite rumors of the summer (and it could be because I'm a Cavs fan), and it was hilarious.
So did LeBron James' mother have a romantic relationship with Delonte West?
Probably not, but it did make for some pretty awesome t-shirts.
Well, Tiger Woods sleeping around turned out to be more than just a rumor, but women are still coming out of the woodwork claiming to have slept with Woods.
So we still find ourselves trying to find truth in so many of these alleged sexcapades, but did he really sleep with this many women?
Logistically speaking, some of these chicks have to be lying.
It's just not possible.
Yesterday, a story broke regarding Eva Longoria-Parker and her divorce from San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker.
We still don't have all the facts, but that hasn't stopped us from talking about it.
Did he cheat?
Did she cheat?
And did we just lose our only reason to ever watch a Spurs game?
For the past month, nobody could get through an episode of SportsCenter without hearing the name "Jenn Sterger," and it isn't because of her sports knowledge or reporting talent.
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre allegedly sent this former New York Jets employee some very inappropriate picture and voice messages, and then these messages were leaked onto the Internet.
Favre has since admitted to leaving the voicemails, but he insists that the picture messages did not come from him.
And until the NFL completes its investigation, all we can do is speculate.
Which we do...
All the time!
Perhaps the biggest story in recent news has been the allegations surrounding Auburn University quarterback Cameron Newton and seeking improper benefits from Mississippi State University.
A former Mississippi State player started the rumor that Newton and his father were looking for "more than just scholarships" in return for Newton's commitment.
No proof has been found to support these allegations, but that hasn't stopped us from digging into Newton's past.
We now find ourselves focusing on academic cheating at the University of Florida as we await more news on the matter.
