2009 SEASON: First-Team All-Big Ten Selection
2010 STATS: 87 tackles (37 solo, and 50 assisted), eight tackles-for-loss, one sack, two interceptions, two pass break-ups, five QB hits, and three forced fumbles.
Has a team leading 87 tackles and three forced fumbles, and his two picks tie him for third overall among Big Ten linebackers.
One can go on and on about the impact Greg Jones has had on the Big Ten. But I feel it would truly be an honor to be a teammate of his. And even to have the privilege of coaching him must be an extraordinary experience.
What I'm getting at are the intangibles that Mr. Jones brings to the Spartan football team: leadership, emotion, attitude, accountability, and being a coachable player.
A lot of guys have the physical attributes to play the game, but what elite players obtain are those that cannot be taught and/or coached. Greg Jones has all that and more, which is why he is the heart and soul of the Michigan State football team.
