Hopefully the third time IS the charm. As long as the boys from Columbus can get past the Trojans out in L.A. the Buckeyes should be looking toward a third straight national championship appearance. Should they get there and lose again they would be emulating the Buffalo Bills team that lost three straight Super Bowls (Giants, Redskins, & Cowboys) back in the early 90's. I don't think that will happen. I believe this is the year the Buckeyes and Jim Tressel flex the muscle that fell asleep in December the last the two years.
Week One Buckeye Prediction: Ohio St - 45 Youngstown St - 10
Before The Buckeye Nation goes crazy on me for the allowance of 10 points by our stellar defense please let me explain. This is Jim Tressel's old team. He is not going to leave our first stringers in all game and he isn't going to Oklahomify his old team that he won several titles with. It's not our style to embarass the little guy, but we also don't want to get embarassed by the little guy (like a certain team up north that shall remain nameless).
What To Watch: Terrelle Pryor and Dane Sanzenbacher. Pryor will get his first chance to publicly back up the hype that enthralled a handful of teams earlier this year. I don't expect to be disappointed. Mr. Sanzenbacher has worked his way into the top three of the Buckeye recieving core and I'm especially interested in his progress this year because he is from my hometown of Toledo.
Player Of The Game: Offense- Beanie Wells
Defense- Malcom Jenkins
