Get The Favre Out: Brett's Gone, Green Bay Should Move On
It's almost been a month since the trade heard around the football world and the impact of Brett Favre going to the Jets is still being felt in Green Bay.
It's almost painful to watch in Green Bay what has happened to the city since the trade. Some fans are blaming GM Ted Thompson, some Head Coach Mike McCarthy, some Favre himself, and, get this—some actually blame Aaron Rodgers.
It's extremely funny and sad how fans have reacted in Green Bay. Fans have been saying it's like a divorce. Yep, when my mom got divorced twice and my dad once, I felt like a die-hard Packer fan, or Favre fan, or whatever.

Just in case you don't know how much the Packers are worshiped in this city, check this out: after the Super Bowl XXXII loss to the Broncos, spousal abuse went up 8% in Green Bay. That sounds more like a divorce.
Local sports bars in Green Bay are actually going to have both Packers and Jets games side-by-side. No offense towards my fellow Wisconsinites, but it's already hard enough watching a Packer game at a bar with drunk fans. Beer + Packers = madness. Beer + Packers + Brett Favre's Jets = Full-blown chaos.
I've been asked by numerous people what I thought of it, considering I live near the Green Bay area. I'll say it like this: both sides were wrong. It wasn't right that Favre demanded that he should be the starter if he returned. It also wasn't right that Packers President Mark Murphy was going to pay Favre some $20 million to stay retired.
Regardless of what happened and what will happen, I think my fellow Packer fans need to really accept that Favre is gone and he will always be a Packer. He will come back to Green Bay and have his jersey retired.
If you are a true Packer fan, you will be able to let it go.
