New Orleans Saints

Black and Gold Player Profile: Duece McAllister

Bleacher ReportAnalyst IAugust 28, 2008

Duece McAllister has had three knee injuries. Both of knees have been surgically reconstructed but he still is running for touchdowns with the Saints. His real name is Dulymus Jenod McAllister but he was given the nickname "Duece" by a high school coach who was a fan of former Alabama and NFL wide receiver David "Duece" Palmer and it has stuck since then.

Now, during Saints' game, the Superdome rings with the chant "DUUUUEEEECE" as he runs up the middle.

The Saints certainly missed McAllister last year as they couldn't get a pounding running game going with Reggie Bush who is more of a speed back than a power back. Duece has been a solid player for the Saints and he hopes to be in future seasons. He is in his 8th season. He has been with the Saints throughout his entire NFL career.
