Saints, LSU Prepare For Gustav

Bleacher ReportAnalyst IAugust 28, 2008

New Orleans Saints' Head Coach Sean Payton said that the Saints were preparing for the arrival of Gustav, which will most likely be a major hurricane when it makes landfall, possibly on the Louisiana coastline. He said that the team has a few evacuation plans of which to choose from but will continue to gameplan as if a storm isn't out there until they are sure of what to do.

The Saints are set to open the regular season against Tampa Bay in the Superdome on September 7.

LSU is set to play Appalachian State, Saturday evening at Tigers' Stadium in Baton Rouge, in their season opener. With contraflow evacuation most likely starting on Saturday, getting in and out of the stadium could present a problem. The school is monitoring the storm but so far they haven't found any reason to cancel or move the game elsewhere. Stay tuned.
