UFC 122: Analysis: Nate Marquardt Vs. Yushin Okami—Round 2
I wonder who gets booed more in the Octagon—Jake Shields, Jon Fitch, or Nate Marquardt?
Though he doesn't have the same yawn-inducing rep as the other two, Nate the Great always seems to bring out the ho-hums whenever I see him in the cage. He's a terrifically effective competitor; it's just that his game plan usually produces ugly, unsatisfying wins.
Yes, I'm saying that Marquardt took the second round, 10-9, must as he did the first—by doing just enough to be more impressive than an underwhelming Okami. He defended the takedowns and landed two or three real shots, which was enough.
