BCS Mess: What If Both Auburn and Oregon Fail to Make It To National Championships?

First, with all due respect to both TCU and Boise State, this is no attempt to belittle them. Doing that to any university is not my game. But with the current system, is there any way the BCS could find a way to deny either of them playing for the national championship?
As likely as is it that both Oregon and Auburn will make it, unexpected things do happen, especially with both of these teams still having to play their most bitter rivals. On any given Saturday...
Should this happen, try holding back the anger of all of the teams that end up with only one loss, claiming that neither Boise State nor TCU should have been placed ahead of them. Take out both BSU and TCU and end up with a bunch of teams with only one loss and try imagining how intense all of them would be fighting to make it to the finale?
Either of these circumstances, including just one of them not making it, could finally force the BCS to come up with an early four-team playoff, within the current bowl system. No. 1 could meet No. 4 and No. 2 could meet No. 3 in a large enough site for both. For the losers, that's the end of their season. For the winners, they'd have a good break before meeting for the title game.
The only drawback I see is how many fans of these four teams would choose to make it to two bowl games in a row. Maybe we don't need big sites for these two games. Let's say just two bowl game sites that seat less but would still like the draw of those who also would like watching these fights to make it to the finale.
How would you like teams making it to the NC?
There's also the possibility of No. 1 and No. 2 receiving home-field advantage. If this results in either game being played in a cold climate, let them meet in a covered neutral site.
Whatever the case, both universities should have the opportunity of a 50/50 split with the tickets. In this case, both losers would still be eligible to go to one of the top bowl sites.
No, there is no system that all would agree over how to settle the dispute of more than two undefeated teams at the end of the regular season. While I definitely am interested in other suggestions of four-game playoffs, hopefully within the bowl system, I won't be making any comments on these replies.
I'll just leave my options open in my comments area and see where most readers fall.
