Wade Phillips has finally worn out his welcome with the Dallas Cowboys.
It was a slow news morning and remained that way until early this afternoon when news broke that owner Jerry Jones was removing Phillips from his head coaching duties and replacing him with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.
I can't say that this came as a surprise to a lot of us; we saw this coming, especially since the team kept losing. Normally head coaches don't survive these kinds of seasons.
A lot of other news has hit the wires. Derek Jeter is apparently in contract talks with the New York Yankees, something we also saw coming, and Major League Baseball's free agency has begun and will go hot and heavy over the next few months until players report to their spring training home.
Let's get to the news of the day, shall we?
