John Cena and The Rock: Rumored Candidates for Superman Role

It's A Bird...It's A Plane...It's John Cena and The Rock?

Yeah, apparently John Cena and The Rock are being considered for the lead role of Superman. My gut feeling is that this rumor that will fade once both parties deny the validity of said rumors. They are on a list of actors being considered for the role, and there are tons of actors who are much, MUCH better for the role of Superman.

Let's for a second consider this rumor to be fact and consider what both men have in their favor that can help then snatch the role from other actors.

The Rock, now known as Dwayne Johnson, has a much greater chance of nabbing the the role than Cena. He stared in countless Disney films and is a darn good action star. Johnson is also proven his worth as a blockbuster star; The Game Plan came in No. 1 during it's opening weekend. The action movies that Johnson starred in gives him the flexibility to be able to do the action scenes well.

Cena, on the other hand, has the odds staked against him. Cena is not a box office draw as The Marine only reached as high as No. 6 in the box office rankings and his latest movie Legendary only got a ranking of 38. Cena is charismatic and has experience in action movies, but he's not at the same level as Johnson. The only ace Cena has up his sleeve is the fact that he plays "Supercena" on Raw every week nonstop for the last few years.

Cena will benefit from this movie more than Johnson will. Cena will be taken as a serious actor in the eyes of many moviegoers. If the movie become a success, then it'll mean that Cena will have to decide if he wants to part ways with the WWE to pursue a career in Hollywood or remain with the WWE, as I highly doubt that Cena will be able to do both.

At the end of the day, we all know that neither man will play Superman as this will be a role that will have the attention of many famed Hollywood stars.
