NTWWC Cycle 1- NXT Gen. Week 3

Welcome one and all to the third week in Bleacher Report's Next Top Women's Wrestling Contest! Last week I challenged the rookies to write an article on their favorite women's wrestler of all time, but they had to write it in an Acrostic style. It proved to be the toughest challenge many of the rookies have had here on Bleacher Report.

It's like I stated from the beginning. Writing on women's wrestling is not a piece of cake, and we're only here to make it harder for you. If you're not down with that, you can just.....  ehem. Anyways, without further ado, let's begin! First up:

Formatting-10/10

Grammar-5/10

Creativity-10/10

Overall: 25/30

Thoughts: I loved that you made the article personal and specific to you, because it gave it some emotion and an instant edge over your competition. There were many grammatical errors, but the article itself overshadowed this. It had to be one of my favorites this week!

Thoughts: I don’t have words to say how great and awesome this article was! All I can say is, best article of this competition so far, awesome job from you!!!

Thoughts: I loved that you spanned Lita's entire career, and the inclusion of other superstar's careers was what, in my opinion, set this article apart from the many other Lita articles. There were some awkward sentences here and there, but nothing too terrible.

Thoughts: You left no stone unturned and really did a great job getting your points across in the best way possible. Loved it. Great job; what I liked was you sold me really well as a CvC thing too, so kudos to you for that.

Thoughts: This article, short as it may've been, had an 'inspirational' feel to it, which I really liked. That was probably  the one different thing out of this Lita article that other's didn't have.

Thoughts: I think that the fact that LITA had just four alphabets kinda shortened the length, but this should not go against the article as it followed the rules and there was nothing wrong with it, just thought that I would let ya know about it. On the whole it was job well done and a good way to continue the competition! :-)

Overall: 28/30

Thoughts: In my honest opinion, this had to be the best article of not only this week's challenge, but the whole competition so far. And it's only week two! The fact that you chose Alundra Blayze could've easily worked for you, or gone a hell of against you. But, in the end, you overcame the odds and created a gem of an article. Not only did you span Alundra's whole career, but you made it personal with experiences of your own put into it.

G-9/10

C-8/10

Overall: 26/30

Thoughts: Your article was great and deserved a 9/10 for each category, however I felt that not all the initial letters had some quality to go with them, for e.g. the paragraph which started with the alphabet “Y” started with the word “yet” rather than a characteristic quality which would fit better in the concept put forward. That is the only thing due to which she got a 8/10 from me or else she would have got a 27 out of 30.

C-10/10

Overall: 21/30

Thoughts: The fact that someone besides the usual Lita was used excited me from the get-go. And the fact that it was Gail Kim really got me hyped. The way you used each letter of Gail's name was different and refreshing. The downfall of the article was the grammar. I'm a grammatical psychopath, so seeing so many awkward phrases and punctual mistakes made me want to slice my eyes out.

Iam:G-8/10

Total:- 25/30

Thoughts: On the whole another good article, and enjoyable read! BTW, is it just me or has this competition been rocking like hell?

Since Jamie didn't hand anything in, and he scored the lowest score, this means Rize and Jamie have been eliminated.

Sorry, Rize, but it just wasn't your day I guess. But, the second cycle might just be yours to take, so stay tuned for a sign-up then! As for Jamie, rules are rules! Today was a double-elimination, and we can't keep you if you didn't give us anything to judge you on.

Now on to the next challenge.

Challenge: "Fantasy Wrestling"

This week's challenge will require you to create your own wrestling league, and you'll have to use male wrestlers as well! The objective is to create a fantasy roster of 30-40 wrestlers, but, of course, since this is NTWWC, there are a few twists.....

Who should've gone home?

Submit Vote vote to see results

The first is that there has to be at least 10 women on each roster.

The second is that you have to pair one woman with any other wrestler to manage, and give a reason why you paired them together.

The third and final twist? It has to be written via slideshow. You have to give a few reasons for each pick, and that's all about it. You can be as creative with this as you want, and anyone from any given roster (past or present) can be picked.

Now I realize this is a pretty huge challenge, so you'll have until 12 AM of November 25th to hand this assignment in. That's two weeks to hand it in! So I'm sure you'll be able to finish this by then.

Now get to writing!

Note: Before this came up there was a lot of asking "When's it gonna be up?" "Are you almost done with iiiiiiit?" "Hurry up!" And to that I would like to politely say.... SIT YO' ASS DOWN! We all have lives and things to do, and for me those things are SCHOOL! So please be patient, because getting this up is by NO means easy. It's TONS of messaging and a hell of a lot of deliberating. So it takes time..... also, I will try to find someone to do the intro, but that, as with these posts, is quite tough.
