Hey, Raiders: Time to Give JaMarcus Russell the Playing Time He Needs!
Note to Lane Kiffin: With your season nothing more than a joke, it's about time you give the guy you paid $60 million to run the offense some playing time.
Yes, some could say its still too early. Others could say, enough already—put the guy in there and let him do what he does best.
I myself say go for it. I mean he has to sink or swim eventually. What better time to do it then when you only have 2 games left and your season was a flop—again!
So JaMarcus might not do well at first. But that is what you give him playing time for. At least if he struggles these last two games, the Raiders have the whole offseason to correct it. The way the Raiders flip-flop QB's every other week is not really helping the cause. And did Lane Kiffin see the standing ovation his future star received? It was insane.
The Raiders are slowly forming a team like the Raiders of old. The only problem is that the center piece of the offense isn't in there! They are probably one of the best losing teams out there. We've seen week after week all the close games and the what if's.
What if they had their future in there and let the offense establish an identity with him? Instead of one week having Josh McCown in, and 2 weeks later having Daunte Culpepper start. Then for kicks we'll throw in Andrew Walter. That doesn't work. True, the Raiders have come pretty close to winning a bunch of their games this year. But what if they just put JaMarcus in there and let the offense be molded around him?
Like I said it's all a bunch of what if's. I say give the kid some playing time and let him feel what its like to get that start and to have the offense all to himself.
It sure couldn't hurt.
