Competing with the Dolphins for rights to the all-pro Charger linebacker, the Bills prevailed in the end.

The 0-7 Buffalo Bills, who arguably needed Merriman more then any other team, will not be able to use him this coming Sunday against Chicago.

"Lights Out" Merriman, famous for his sack dance routine, will join a Bills team that has lost two consecutive heart-breakers, both on the road at Baltimore, and then most recently, in Kansas City.

The Chargers felt as if Merriman was at the point where he needed to move on.  The Chargers certainly made their mind up on their feelings for Merriman after his alleged dispute with one time, pop sensation Tila Tequila.

I am interested to see if there is anything left in the tank for Merriman.  His productivity was off the charts in his first three seasons: He totaled nearly 40 sacks.

With knee injuries affecting his movement and playtime, he has only recorded a measly three sacks in the last three years.

Can Buffalo revive the one time hard-knocking maniac?

For the sake of the Bills, I sure hope so.  It's 'bout time the Bills won some games, and Merriman, if it's the 2005 Merriman, will be just what the Doc ordered.
