Asbestos Particles Delay Knicks vs. Magic Game
Asbestos particles were released into Madison Square Garden during a cleaning process, and the danger that the harmful substance could cause gave the Knicks reason to postpone Tuesday's game against the Orlando Magic.
According to ESPN, The Knicks reached out to the Nets' Prudential Center for a place to play their Friday game, but the New Jersey Devils already have a game scheduled against the New York Rangers.
A Knicks official had this to say about the asbestos scare:
"They believe they can get this cleaned up by Wednesday, and they won't have to move any games -- they'll just have to reschedule the Magic game...But if it gets on past Thursday, the Knicks said they'll get back to the people in Newark."
The WNBA's New York Liberty will play at Prudential Center while Madison Square Garden undergoes renovations this summer, and the arena may be able to work out a day-night scenario for Friday's games.
