Linda McMahon Loses Senate Race: More Politics In Her Future?
Linda McMahon of WWE fame decided to try her luck at politics this year by entering in a race for a U.S. Senator from Connecticut.
McMahon won the support of the Republican party by replacing Bob Simmons as the party favorite.
She spent $50 million on her Senate campaign focusing on television and new media.
McMahon ran against Democratic candidate Richard Blumenthal for the Senator position, and she tried her hardest to discredit him by citing his fiscal irresponsibility.
The Democratic party fought back against McMahon by pointing out all of the offensive practices of the WWE, and as a result, almost 500,000 YouTube videos were removed in an attempt to aid McMahon's campaign.
After the votes were counted, Blumenthal ended up winning the race, but McMahon doesn't appear to be done. She said that she had "the most fabulous, unbelievable year" with Journey's Don't Stop Believing playing in the background.
