As we've all come to know, CM Punk has been injured and is expected to be out for three months. This is a huge blow to the WWE and to their fans, as we were seeing the beginning of a Daniel Bryan-CM Punk feud. In the following article, I will analyze what CM Punk's injury means to Monday Night RAW.
Daniel Bryan vs. CM Punk Will Be Put on Hold
On the October 25 edition of Monday Night RAW, we witnessed what could be the start of a Daniel Bryan-CM Punk feud. CM Punk was on commentary, and he distracted Daniel Bryan enough for Dolph Ziggler to almost capitalize and attack Daniel Bryan. This meant that Punk was going after Bryan's US title.
With Punk's injury, this feud will have to be put on hold. I think that WWE wants Punk vs. Bryan at WrestleMania XXVII because it will increase buy rates and will be epic in every single way.
Now if WWE wants this, Punk's injury will question its ability to keep the US title around Bryan's waist while keeping his credibility. This means that Bryan can't enter Miz zone and barely defend it; he has to defend it at each PPV until Punk returns from injury and they start a feud.
WWE Will Lose a GOLDEN All-Around Performer in CM Punk
What would you like to see CM Punk as during his injury?
Various wrestling websites recently reported that WWE management is currently worried about the amount of main eventers that are injured or haveleft the company. Management thinks that the current roster is at an all-time low.
They couldn't be any more correct, as you have Triple H and CM Punk sidelined with injuries, coupled with HBK's retirement, Batista leaving and Chris Jericho's return in doubt.
I say golden here because Punk has it all: in-ring ability, charisma, mic skills and one hell of a gimmick.
He will be missed during his expected three month absence.
Punk Might Be Revealed as the RAW GM
This might seem very unlikely, but it's always possible, especially with the somewhat return of the Mr. McMahon character, and Vincent McMahon telling creative to write up something to keep Punk on television.
I don't know how they could make this logical, but with the WWE, throw logic out of the window.
Punk Might Go on Commentary with Micheal Cole and Jerry Lawler
We've seen Punk commentate, and we've seen the results. He is just golden when it comes to talking, be it a microphone or a headset.
I really hope this happens, because I really like Punk's commentary. He isn't a retarded heel like Micheal Cole, but he also isn't a face like Jerry Lawler. He would be perfect on commentary as a tweener, and would fit perfectly with Cole and Lawler.
I think that Punk's injury is a HUGE blow to the WWE, especially because we were expecting a phenomenal Punk-Bryan feud.
