Black and Gold Player Profile: Pierre Thomas

Pierre Thomas was one of only two rookie free agents to be kept on the Saints' roster last year. Thomas was the only Saint last year to score touchdowns rushing, receiving and on a return, running for a 24-yard score against Atlanta, catching an 11-yard touchdown pass at Chicago and scooping up a loose ball on a botched snap at Seattle and running it five yards into the end zone.

College: Illinois

Thomas had considerable luck last year with others' misfortunes. After the injuries to Duece McAllister, Reggie Bush, and a small injury to Aaron Stecker, Thomas was able to start against Chicago in Week 17 of the regular season where he rushed for 107 yards. In his short career, Thomas as rushed 52 times for 252 yards in only 12 games. He also scored 1 touchdown and had 17 receptions for 151 yards and a touchdown.
