Jed Lowrie jumped on Brandon League’s 1-1 offering and lined it out of the park to right field giving Boston a 6-5 lead and Manny Delcarmen finished out the ninth giving the Red Sox a hard fought win against Toronto.

Jonathan Papelbon pitched two scoreless innings of relief for the win.

Star of the Game: Lowrie

I loved him as soon as he came up (bought his shirt as soon I could get my hands on it) but man is he growing on me even more. 0-4 going into his at bat in the 11th, Lowrie easily could have gone up to the plate not prepared, but he didn’t and delivered the game winning solo blast. Today Julio Lugo, you have officially lost your job. And if you do not think so go watch that kid play better defense than you too.

What a joke the Lugo signing really was.

Next Game: How about them Yanks?

It’s a series where Boston could put the Yankees totally out of contention in the A.L. East.

Let’s do it.
