The Minnesota Vikings waived Randy Moss today, but contrary to many beliefs, wide receiver Sidney Rice will not be returning this week. Rice underwent hip surgery prior to the season, and was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list, sidelining him for the first six weeks of the season.

Last year, Rice was a focal part of the Vikings offense, making 83 receptions for 1,312 yards, finding the endzone six times. He was reportedly seen jogging on the field today and catching passes, but still doesn't seem too close to returning to action any time soon.
