The Giants Are No Longer Contenders

Every single football fan would be blind if they can't see that the giants are no longer contenders. The super bowl run last year was great and there defense was dominant, but a lot has happens since then. the Giants defense is right back to average and you can say what you want Shockey is a big loss!

So lets start with the Giants offense. Shockey is a huge loss. say what you all want about  Shockey but he was a tremendous athlete at TE. He was always a passing threat to the opposing team and took a lot of attension. he was also a great blocker...one of the best in the league. also Eli isn't a playmaking QB, he makes tons of mistakes, tied for the most interceptions in the league, but i will give him credit he can manage a game but without the dominant defense from last year he will be forced into situations that he doesn't want to be in. Plaxico has his lingering ankle injury and toomer isnt getting any younger.

Now the best part of my article, the Giants D. Ask anyone around the world why the Giants won the super bowl and they will answer...the Giants amazing pass rush. well lets look at this great defense. Strahan is gone and retired for good (pro bowler), Gibril Wilson is gone to the Raiders (only good DB), Osi Umenyiori is out for the season (pro bowler) and best pass rusher on the team, Kawika Mitchell is gone (key role player), and sam madison is slow and old, and Webster is a straight up no namer. The only thing the Giants got going for them is Pierce. Justin Tuck isn't a proven good player he was a back up who came in when the offense was tired.

Everyone just face is te Giants can't apply the type of pressure that they did last season. and with sammy knight filling in at safety with bum corners, people will throw all over the giants and run down there throats without Strahan and Osi. and Eli will make his fair share of mistakes with that less than impressive running game.
