Brett Favre Injury: Tarvaris Jackson Replaces Favre In Fourth Quarter
Tarvaris Jackson came on in relief of Brett Favre in the fourth quarter after Favre left the game following a punishing hit that left a gash in his chin.
Jackson, who practiced with the first team in Minnesota all week, promptly threw a touchdown pass on his first play of the game and then a two-point conversion to pull the Vikings to within 21-18 against the New England Patriots.
Jackson lofted a screen pass in the right flat to Naufahu Tahi for a 1-yard touchdown catch. Jackson finished with 36 yards passing on 4 of 6 six completions.
Jackson also had a 33-yard run later in the quarter.
Favre received nine stitches after the game and appeared to be coherent, which will likely mean he will be back in the starting lineup for Week 9, unless something drastic happens during the week.
