Brett Favre: Favre Is Active, Will Start Against Patriots
Brett Favre will start today for the Minnesota Vikings against the New England Patriots despite two small fractures in his left ankle.
Favre was listed as questionable on the injury report and Coach Brad Childress has been saying it would be a game-time decision as to whether Favre would play or not.
Favre did not practice with the Vikings all week, but was able to take part in light throwing drills Friday. He spent the week in a walking boot at the Vikings' team facilities.
Favre injured his ankle last week in a loss to Green Bay.
His NFL record streak of 291 straight starts appeared to be in jeopardy for most of the week, but will remain in tact at least one more week.
Favre is also embroiled in an off-field scandal involving some possible lewd text messages that were sent to a former employee of the New York Jets.
The league is investigating the matter.
