Oh snap.

Last night, early test results indicated no ligament damage, and Giants fans everywhere breathed a cautious sigh of relief. But more tests remained, and today, we found out:

Osi Umenyiora is out for the season.

Michael Strahan has retired, we've lost half the defense to free agency, and now this terrific blow. Justin Tuck can't handle the battle on his own. The defense is now utterly depleted, especially at defensive end. This is going to make a repeat rather improbable.

Let's hope Strahan miraculously decides to follow in the footsteps of his buddy, Brett Favre (ironically, against whom Osi's devastating injury occurred.)

  1. I have a feeling Tom Coughlin is going to call up Strahan. I'm just not sure Michael is willing to come back ten or eleven days before his team's first game.

    1. Its worth a shot. Plus, he will have already missed training camp and the preseason, which he hates.
