Osi Umenyiora's Season Is Over

Ken SheehanAnalyst IAugust 24, 2008

After hurting his knee in the second quarter of the Giants' preseason game against the Jets, it is reported that Osi Umenyiora will have season-ending knee surgery.

After already losing Michael Strahan to retirement, the Giants have a defensive line that has gone from ending last season as arguably the best in the league to becoming a huge question mark.

Without Umenyiora, the Giants look to be leaning towards having outside linebacker Mathius Kiwanuka drop down to defensive end, the position he played in college and has occasionally played for the Giants.
