•I have no idea why Dave Roberts, Randy Winn, and Rich Aurilia continue to get starts. These veterans need to be on the bench or traded to a contender.

•Third baseman Ryan Rohlinger reminds me of shortstop Brian Bocock, and that is not a good thing. Rohlinger is batting .120 and has committed three errors so far in the big leagues.

•Catcher/infielder Pablo Sandoval is a real prospect, though. He has been very impressive with the bat ever since his call-up from the minors. He was batting .458 coming into today's game against the Padres.

•Sandoval has been good behind the plate, too. He caught Barry Zito last week and Zito gave up zero runs.

•1B Travis Ishikawa has played well so far also. The Giants need to know if either John Bowker or Ishikawa is good enough to be the full-time first baseman in 2009.
