Meet The Duck

The University of Oregon is home to some of the most fashionable uniforms in college football, The Duck is a fashionable fellow himself.

The Duck’s main outfit is a green sailor hat, plus he wears a yellow bandana around his neck, and a long sleeve green shirt with a yellow “O” on the front.

Some say the camera adds five pounds, but that hasn’t kept The Duck from being featured in several recent television commercials, high fashion and all.

The Duck’s Experience

The Duck has seen a lot of great games, a lot of great accomplishments, and a lot of great players while wearing the green and gold of Oregon.

He’s been on the sidelines for three Rose Bowls and one National Championship, plus countless Pac-10 games.

The Duck has cheered on Oregon legends such as Steve Prefontaine, Dan Fouts, Bobby Moore, Joey Harrington and many more athletes to spend time in Eugene.

The Duck’s Leadership Abilities

The Duck best shows off his leadership ability in getting the crowd on their feet and yelling “O”. The Duck always leads the football team out of the tunnel before each home game, and is a big part of Oregon’s dominating home field advantage.

The Duck can also be seen trying to keep up with the cheerleaders’ routines, although he lacks the flexibility to fully execute all of the cheerleaders’ moves.

What Distinguishes The Duck From the Rest?

The Duck distinguishes himself by being as fan friendly as mascots get, as he can often be seen crowd surfing in the student section at Autzen Stadium and posing for photos with young Duck fans.

To kick off each home football game, the Duck rides into the stadium on the back of a custom Harley Davidson (he got his motorcycle license several years ago, but usually chooses to ride rather than drive).

The Duck’s Campaign Promise

The Duck promises to keep the fan atmosphere for all of the University of Oregon sports among the best in the country, and spread that excitement and love for all things college football across the nation.

The Duck: the mascot taking Oregon, the Pac-10, and all of college football to new heights.
