If the Vancouver Canucks can't sign Mats Sundin, then they might be getting a center from the team where Sundin ends up.

According to hockeybuzz.com, a source very close to the Canucks says that the Rangers, if they sign Mats Sundin, are willing to send Scott Gomez to Vancouver. The source says that the Canucks have a significant interest in Gomez, and the Canucks did make a legitimate bid for him last offseason, only to be outbid by the Rangers.

Also, according to this source, Sundin is expected to make a decision by the middle of next week, at the latest.

As of right now, there are three teams in the running for Sundin: Montreal, Vancouver, and the Rangers.

No word was given on who the Rangers would get in exchange for Gomez.
