Linas Kleiza's Olympic Run Comes to a Disappointing End

The chances of an olympian with Mizzou connections winning gold this year came to an end last night in Beijing, as Linas Kleiza and his Lithuanian teammates fell to Spain 91-86.

Kleiza had a very quiet—although quite physical—night. Linas was 0 for 4 from the field and finished with no points and only one rebound in 11 minutes.

I don't believe Kleiza was injured, and he only finished with two fouls, so I'm not sure what the reason was for the lack of minutes—unless it was his ineffectiveness.

With under five minutes to play Kleiza picked up his second unsportsmanlike foul, and received an automatic ejection. As anyone who watched him play much in college can attest to, that's really not out of character of Linas.
Kleiza has averaged 12 points and 5.3 rebounds in the Olympics. Lithuania will play Argentina for the bronze medal at 11 pm CT on Saturday night.
