Norv Turner's early-season struggles with the Chargers have been well-documented.  After his team made several costly mistakes in the loss to the Patriots Sunday, time could be running out in San Diego.

The Chargers committed four costly turnovers to help the Patriots survive with an ugly 23-20 win in San Diego.

Needing a field goal to tie in the closing seconds, the Chargers got in position to attempt a 45-yard field goal.

A false start penalty moved the attempt back five yards, and newly-signed Kris Brown missed the ensuing 50-yard try.

Meanwhile, the Patriots' offense looked listless against the Chargers.

With Tom Brady throwing everything short, New England totaled a meager 179 yards in the game.

The Pats' running game wasn't effective either.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead ran for just 24 yards apiece in the victory.

If Jerod Mayo and the Patriots' young defense continue to improve, Brady might not be forced to light up the scoreboard after all.
