NFL Week 7: Scores, Results and Reaction to Today's Biggest Storylines

NFL Week 7 is in full swing and is generating plenty of compelling story lines at this hour.
Among the headlines, Brett Favre reportedly admitted he left voicemails for sideline starlet Jenn Sterger.
According to Fox Sports, he told the NFL he did not send any lewd photographs to Sterger, however.
Turning to the action on the field in Week 7, the 49ers' Alex Smith has found himself on the sideline.
Smith sustained a sprained non-throwing shoulder early in the third quarter against the Panthers and has been replaced by David Carr.
Elsewhere, Steelers linebacker James Harrison is in the lineup after saying he would consider retirement after the NFL's crackdown on illegal hits this week.
Harrison's Steelers are clinging to a slim lead in Miami against the Dolphins.
Here's a closer look at what is happening around the NFL in Week 7.

Kyle Orton and the Broncos looked absolutely lost against the Raiders Sunday in Denver.
It might be time for Josh McDaniels to shake things up after his team lost for the 12th time in the last 16 games.
Denver committed three turnovers and fell behind 38-7 at the half.
Orton finished the game just 12-of-29 for 198 yards. After starting the season strong, he has struggled mightily in the last two games.
Meanwhile, Oakland cleaned things up after last week's sloppy performance against the 49ers.
With Darren McFadden back in the lineup, Oakland rushed for 328 yards en route to the 59-14 win.
McFadden scored three touchdowns as the Raiders record the highest point total in franchise history.
With the Broncos heading to London to play the woeful 49ers in Week 8, don't expect McDaniels to think about making a change quite yet.
As the season winds down, Tebow could see more action in the so-called "Swamp Package" in Denver's attack.
McDaniels might find himself on the hot seat if the losses continue to pile up in the Mile High City.

Norv Turner's early-season struggles with the Chargers have been well-documented. After his team made several costly mistakes in the loss to the Patriots Sunday, time could be running out in San Diego.
The Chargers committed four costly turnovers to help the Patriots survive with an ugly 23-20 win in San Diego.
Needing a field goal to tie in the closing seconds, the Chargers got in position to attempt a 45-yard field goal.
A false start penalty moved the attempt back five yards, and newly-signed Kris Brown missed the ensuing 50-yard try.
Meanwhile, the Patriots' offense looked listless against the Chargers.
With Tom Brady throwing everything short, New England totaled a meager 179 yards in the game.
The Pats' running game wasn't effective either.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead ran for just 24 yards apiece in the victory.
If Jerod Mayo and the Patriots' young defense continue to improve, Brady might not be forced to light up the scoreboard after all.

Brett Favre's return to Green Bay is always a huge story, but this time it has a more unusual feeling.
Hours after a Fox Sports report said Favre admitted leaving voicemails for Jenn Sterger, he took the field in Green Bay to a ringing chorus of boos.
As if the game need any more subplots, Randy Moss makes his return to Lambeau Field in a Vikings uniform.
With Favre's right elbow still hurting with tendinitis, his play this season has been extremely inconsistent.
Sunday night's game could be huge in determining the balance of power in the NFC North.
No team has been hit harder with injuries than the Packers this season, but Green Bay does expect star linebacker Clay Matthews to start and play tonight after sitting out last week with a hamstring injury.
It should be interesting to see how Favre performs under the microscope tonight.

Drew Brees threw three touchdowns Sunday. The only problem was two of them went to Browns' linebacker David Bowens.
Brees finished tossed four interceptions to help Colt McCoy and the Browns shock the Saints in New Orleans.
Despite totaling just over 200 yards of offense, Cleveland bolted to a 20-3 lead and never looked back.
Brees ended up with 356 yards passing in the game, but New Orleans again looked out of sync offensively.
McCoy recorded his first-career win as a starter, completing just 10 passes for 74 yards without committing a turnover.
It's difficult to imagine Drew Brees and the Saints have now lost to both Max Hall and Colt McCoy this season.

DeAngelo Hall and the Redskins' defense has had plenty of problems stopping opponents this season.
Hall and the 'Skins have also had some problems catching the the ball.
That all changed Sunday against Jay Cutler and the Bears.
Hall tied an NFL record with four interceptions, including a 92-yard interception return for a touchdown, to help the Redskins record a 17-14 win in Chicago.
Meanwhile, the Bears committed a total of five turnovers and once again looked lost on offense.
Chicago ran the ball only 13 times in the game, and Mike Martz leaned heavily on Culter through the air.
The Redskins recorded three sacks against Cutler in the game, including one by Albert Haynesworth.
Haynesworth also forced a fumble on what appeared to be a touchdown dive by Cutler. The Redskins recovered the ball, and for some reason Bears' coach Lovie Smith opted not to challenge the play.
Washington wasn't great on offense, but did get 125 rushing yards from emerging back Ryan Torain.

Michael Vick will return to the starting lineup in Week 9, head coach Andy Reid said following the Eagles' loss to the Titans Sunday afternoon in Nashville.
When asked about his his starting quarterback situation in the postgame press conference, Reid deadpanned, "It's Mike."
Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
The move wasn't a surprise based on Reid's earlier comments that Vick would be much healthier following the bye in Week 8, making him likely to return to the field at that time.
Still, if Kolb would have played well and helped the Eagles win Sunday, Reid clearly would have been faced with a difficult decision.
Kolb threw for 231 yards and a touchdown in the loss, but committed three turnovers to help the Titans score 27 unanswered points.
Philadelphia's offense never got going Sunday and will certainly be aided by Vick's return.

The Pittsburgh Steelers used instant replay to keep rolling Sunday, benefiting from inconclusive visual evidence to kick a late field goal to beat the Dolphins.
Ben Roethlisberger lost control of the ball while reaching for the goal line on Pittsburgh's game-winning possession.
The play was first ruled as a touchdown, but the officials took a long look at determined Roethlisberger did in fact lose control before the ball crossed the goal line.
However, the officials cited inconclusive visual evidence regarding which team recovered the fumble and awarded the ball to the Steelers.
Jeff Reed kicked a short field goal moments later, and Pittsburgh's defense held the Dolphins offense to four yards on its ensuing possession.
Miami took an early lead thanks to a pair of Steelers' turnovers, and managed to move the ball through the air against the NFL's best defense.
Despite the win, the Steelers suffered three crucial personnel losses in the game.
Defensive end Aaron Smith and linebacker LaMaar Woodley left the game, and veteran tackle Flozell Adams turned an ankle.

Kerry Collins started in place of the injured Vince Young and teamed up with Kenny Britt to help Tennessee defeat Philadelphia 37-19 in Nashville.
Young served as the No. 2 quarterback behind Collins in the game. The Titans officially listed him as questionable for this week, but decided to give his knee at least a week to recover.
Collins had his rough spots, but ended up with an impressive line against the Eagles' defense.
The 37 year-old found Britt for seven receptions totaling 225 yards and three touchdowns.
Britt's performance was very impressive, especially considering Britt sat out the early part of the game after his arrest last week.
Meanwhile, the Eagles got a fairly mediocre game from Kevin Kolb, who threw for just 231 yards with a pair of interceptions.
Another strong game from Kolb and a win would have made it difficult for Andy Reid to take him off the field.
Look for Michael Vick to be under center when the Eagles return to action following the bye in Week 8.

Alex Smith left with a sprained left shoulder against the Carolina Panthers Sunday, opening the door for David Carr to get his chance.
Carr's dismal performance coincided with the 49ers' late collapse, as Matt Moore helped Carolina rally to a 23-20 win.
Smith had nearly been yanked in favor of Carr during the last two games, and was forced out of the lineup after being squashed early in the third quarter.
The loss leaves the 49ers virtually dead in the water with the trip to London looming.
San Francisco isn't likely to know about Smith's status for at least a couple of days, and it seems very possible Carr would get the start in Week 8 against the Broncos.
Carr completed 4-of-12 passes for 48 yards and an interception against the Panthers.

NFL Week 7 is underway with the league is keeping a close watch on illegal hits.
According to ESPN, the NFL sent out another league-wide memo warning teams about players who have committed multiple illegal infractions.
The purpose of the report was apparently to let teams know exactly which players the NFL is keeping a close eye on.
After announcing players could face suspensions if illegal hits were deemed deliberate or excessive, the NFL face a firestorm of criticism from current and former players.
Among the most bizarre reactions to the league's crackdown, Steelers' linebacker James Harrison left the team and was said to be contemplating retirement.
Harrison returned one day later and started for the Steelers Sunday against the Dolphins.
Despite the increased focus on the welfare of the players on the field, the NFL continues to face criticism for its treatment of former players who have been impacted by injuries from their playing days.

Fox Sports reported Sunday Brett Favre admitted contacting former Jets sideline reporter Jenn Sterger and leaving her voicemails.
The report also claimed Favre denied allegations he sent explicit pictures to Sterger.
Meanwhile, Sterger's public relations representative was quoted in the report saying his client was still considering cooperating with the NFL.
The NFL has yet to publicly respond to today's report, but the attention surrounding the matter could prompt a statement even with the investigation far from being over.
Favre and the Vikings travel to Green Bay to face his former team in Week 7 on Sunday night football.
With the Vikings still fighting an uphill battle in the NFC North, it doesn't appear like Favre will be able to put his private life out of the spotlight anytime soon.
The last thing the Vikings wanted was for this story to break today.
Although he will certainly be asked about the investigation, don't expect Favre to deviate from his mantra that it is simply and NFL issue.
