Hello again Bleacher Reporters! Earlier today I posted an article for a competition. Well guess what? Here's the first post in the competition! The whole thing will be judged by me, Renee Gerber and Iam Da Real Deal. First let me explain what the title means.
NTWWC stands for Next Top Women's Wrestling Columnist, which is way too long to continually write out, so we'll stick to the abbreviation. I fully plan on having this competition continually run. This is the first cycle, and thus we are introducing a new generation of women's wrestling writers here on Bleacher Report. The rules are simple. Six competitors, three mentors, one winner.
If you missed it, yes, I did just say three mentors. Those mentors also happen to be the judges. Before I announce the mentors, let me introduce you all to the inaugural rookies of NTWWC:
These are our six rookies for the cycle. Some are established, while some are new to the site and are looking to make a name for themselves. Their mentors will be there simply to guide them. We can offer up ideas or suggestions for how to improve their articles and get ahead of the game, but that's it. We cannot assist our rookies in writing the articles, and if done, the rookie who cheated will be eliminated as well as the mentor being fired.
Renee will mentor Rize and Jamie.
I will mentor Buzz and Jade.
And Iam will mentor Chris and Double-A.
Some think that writing on women's wrestling is easy as one, two, three. Well guess what?
They're dead wrong.
And guess what else? We're here to make it harder. If you rookies think this will be any old, plain competition, you're absolutely mistaken. This competition will test your limits as a writer, and it might just make you go nuts. So let me introduce your first challenge of the competition.
Challenge: "When Couples Attack"
This week's challenge is for the rookie's to partner with one another to create an article. One will write the first half of the article, while the other writes the second. Or you can make it one writes two parts, and the other one. But, this will be taken into consideration for who did more work, so being equals is important. The partners are already chosen by default, as each mentor has two people.
For example: Rize and Jamie have Renee, so they have to team together.
The article will have to be about who the stronger member of LayCool is.
Submit each article by linking it to me, Renee AND Iam through the contact button on each of our pages. It is due by 12:00 am of this Friday.
Also look forward to having your own opening. If you don't know what I mean by that, look no further than the YouTube video posted here. That is what an opening is, and YOU get one! ;)
Now the question is: Who. Will. Win?
