Cam Newton ran for 216 yards and two touchdowns, and Auburn slid past LSU to remain the only undefeated team in the SEC with a 24-17 win.
While Newton did most of the damage, it was running back Onterio McCaleb that gave Auburn the lead late with a 70-yard scoring run with 5:05 left.
Auburn exploded for 526 yards of total offense, with Newton accounting for 303 of them and solidifying his position as the front runner for the Heisman Trophy with his performance.
Newton scored on runs of 1 and 49-yards for Auburn (8-0, 5-0 SEC).
He also broke the SEC single-season rushing record for a quarterback, eclipsing 1,006 yards through the first eight games of the season. He also set a new school record for total touchdowns, breaking former Heisman Trophy winner Pat Sullivan's previous mark of 26.
Auburn racked up 440 yards rushing against the No. 3 defense in the country, while holding LSU to 243 yards of total offense.
