  2. It's a joke I guess. The Rays players will all eventually sign with the Yankees, so the only chance to see the players is either now, or when the Yankees come back to town at some other time.

    I guess.

  3. Most of the best players on TB are locked up for a few years.

  4. I doubt friedman would let his team go to the YANKEES of all teams,
    even if they traded to someone like the PADRES they would still be better than the yankees...

  5. Yup,they'll be around long term, like the Marlins.

  6. The Marlins had a $54 M payroll in 2003 when they let Ubrina, Ivan Rodriguez, and Derek Lee go. The Rays have a $43 M payroll with no significant free agents this offseason. There's no reason to think the Rays can't contend again next year.
