For the past three years or so, all you heard during the offseason was talk when Brett Favre would retire. He announced prematurely on March 6 that he would indeed retire from the NFL, and that shot Aaron Rodgers into the starting role of Packers quarterback.
When Brett Favre announced he was coming out of retirement, most Green Bay fans said "Hallelujah," but the Packers organization, for some idiotic reason, said they would not give Favre the starting job. So instead they trade him to the New York Jets....Could there be a Jets/Packers Super Bowl this year? The answer is simple: No!
History has shown that when a Hall-of-Fame quarterback leaves, his backup will struggle terribly. The only exception would be Steve Young, but the only reason the 49ers got rid of Joe Montana was because Young had proven himself before. All during training camp, all the Packers could hear was "Bring back Brett." The very first time Aaron Rodgers has a bad game, he will be butchered by the Green Bay media and Packers fans. He has never started a single game in his career and has a history of injury problems, which could mean that if he's struggling and rookie Brian Brohm shows off good stuff, he will be ran out of Green Bay without hesitation.
Rodgers will sink even further if the Packers don't make it to the playoffs and/or the Jets go to the Super Bowl, which I highly doubt will happen. What most people don't realize is that there is a lot more pressure on Rodgers than any other quarterback in the NFL because of the Brett Favre ordeal. With Aaron Rodgers under center this season, I predict the Packers go 6-10, if they're lucky.

10-6 is more like it...The team has to get used to any QB that needs a pocket and throws off his front foot...Donald Driver has dropped three passes already in the first two games but i dont hear people calling him out because its the preseason and nobody really cares because they know he will make the catches that matter during the year and the same goes for Aaron Rodgers and the o-line.

Yes but Donald Driver is also a proven veteran in NFL, while Rodgers has had limited play in a real NFL game.

6-10 sounds about right.
Aaron Rodgers could very well end up being the Next Matt Lienart. But oh oh the Packers don't have a wise old vetern to depend upon. Season ruined.
If Aaron was the real deal he would have come off the bench and won the Dallas game just like Brett did when old #7 went down way back Sept 1992.
