Boxing's new superstars the" welterweights"
In the 1970' and 80's We all new their names, Ali ,Fraizer,Norton, Foreman, Holmes, Dokes and of course Mike Tyson. Even in the 90's we could name a few Lewis, Douglass and Holyfield
Now Boxing has new Suoerstars and they are all in one weight class The welterweights
As a avid boxing fan Its sad to admit but during the 80's and 90's I never watched anything but the big guys , except Marvin Hagler his KO of Tommy Hearns is a classic. So back to the welterweight division. It is packed with talented fighters who are fast and actually hit the body. Basically the first real welterweight fight I saw Was Micky Ward vs Aturro Gati I was hooked.! They threw more punches in one round then heavyweights do in twelve. No more paying fifty bucks to watch Tyson knock out his opponent in one round. The reason I love this division is there are so many good fighters with different styles that making good Matchups is easy.Margarto vs Cotto was a war two different styles made this fight. Cotto boxing Margarito stalking ,zinging shots to the body Alot of the welterweights are from different country's so rivalry is not a problum.Hers a few names I can throw out Hatton, CLoutty ,Judah, Cotto, Willams, Mosley, Margarito, Mayweather and this is just a few . Take any one of these guys and put them together in a ring and you have a terrific fight So weather its HBO or ESPN when boxing is on and your flippen by stop you wont be disappointed
