Buffalo Sabres coach Lindy Ruff was recently compared to the Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher in a conversation.  Time to do some googling and I soon found out how true this comparison actually is.

Both are the longest tenured coaches in their respective leagues

Both have won coach of the year

Both have winning percentages under .600

Both played with future hall of famers

Both have had the best record in the league and not made the championship

Both have made their leagues championships and lost

Between the 2 of them they have made the playoffs 12 times out of a combined 28 seasons behind the bench.

While their success will be judged on how long they coached one team, neither appear any closer to being the first to win a championship.
