After seeing many articles about Jimmy Rolllins saying he is having a down year, I thought I would put in my input. It wont be long but I have to write it.
Let me just start off by saying I dont like Jimmy . Its just something about him.
Last year he won the MVP as im sure most of you know hitting .296 with 30 HR and 20 triples. Crazy good numbers, which most expected him to do again, but not me. Why? He just had one good year, that's it. Like Jay Bruce's begin to his career, it would eventually stop. Lifetime Rollins is only a .276 hitter, nothing special for a lead off hitter who always swings and pops the first pitch of the game up to the middle of the infield.
I thought it would be interesting to compare Rollins career stats minus his MVP fluke year to see how his stats for this year.
Avg. HR Avg OBP RBI
Career .272 12 .331 70
Season .263 On pace for 11.2 .330 60.8
As you can see the numbers are to close to be saying that Rollins is having a major down year. He is just having a "regular Rollins year". Hopefully the Phils can still win the East.
