UFC 120 Analysis: Michael Bisping Vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama—Round 1
Tough round to score as Akiyama connected early with a couple power shots and even had the Count on Queer Street inside the first two minutes of the round. But then Bisping got his legs back under him and started to relax, scoring a brief takedown that amounted to nothing yet still counted in the judges' eyes.
Then the competitors traded low blows and solid strikes for the rest of the round. Probably give it to Bisping for staying more aggressive, varying his attack, and shaking off the early assault.
However, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to learn others gave the 10-9 to Sexiyama.
