The University of Louisville will welcome former South Carolina running back Jarvis Giles to their football team next season. Giles, the 5'11, 186 pound TB from Gaither HS in Tampa Florida, had recently announced that he was leaving South Carolina back in September. The Gamecocks backfield had gotten a little too crowded when freshman standout Marcus Lattimore had taken over as starter. Coach Spurrier understood Giles departure and wished him the best. Giles attended the Cardinal blowout 56-0 win against Memphis last weekend where i'm sure head football coach and former Gamecock coach Charlie Strong convinced Giles to come there.

The Cardinals enjoy a 3-2 record and look to improve that against Cincinnati next weekend. Giles, however, will sit out the rest of this season and next season and work on preparations to compete for a starting job in 2012. I wish Jarvis Giles and coach Charlie Strong the best of luck,... unless they ever play the Gamecocks in a bowl game.
