Jaime Redknapp has called upon the England fans to lay off Ashley Cole as he can become England's most capped player of all time. He said:

“He (Ashley Cole) won’t win a popularity contest with David Beckham, but Ashley Cole might end up with more England caps than him. Last night was No 86 and who is about to stop him from winning more than 115? He’s a buccaneering full back and a genuine world class player.

He’s some footballer... wonder if there will come a time when supporters will look beyond his faults and lay off the boos?”

I think it's safe to say that you will never ever stop the boo-boys at Wembley or wherever England play and with Cole in the side. Of course alot of it stems from his behaviour off the pitch and sometimes his past attitude to referee's ( a la Spurs a few years back ) but I agree with Redknapp, he is world class and the best in the world in his position.

It's just a shame in this country that football fans other than us here at Chelsea fail to appreciate exactly what we have, when we have it!.
