When the bowl games were announced, I was shocked that Troy didn't make the cut.
The Trojans went 8-4, upset an Oklahoma State team that's playing in a New Year's Eve bowl game, and played well against Georgia. Troy also had a top-25 scoring offense, and finished 17th in the nation in total offense.
Sure, the Trojans had a weak schedule, but they got bumped for an Alabama team that went 6-6 and lost to Louisiana-Monroe—a team Troy beat.
I'm not trying to bash Alabama, but it's obvious that bowl committees aren't interested in small programs like Troy because they don't "travel" well, and their fan support is nowhere near as strong as that of bigger schools.
I think that's just sad.
