New York Jets had their first preseason game on Saturday against the Washington Redskins and i had the privilege of being there. Brett Favre made his Jets debut and he was greeted with a standing and extremely loud ovation.
The Jets won the coin toss and elected to recieve and on Bretts First Snap which i filmed and you can see on this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiFaMAmhcqU threw a perfect pass on a slant route to Cotchery to gain 11 yards. but the most amazing part of the evening besides his 2nd drive which he lead all the way down field and threw a TD pass to first year Jet Dustin Keller was that from the time gates opened at 5 pm to the time the game was over the Fans were on their feet cheering for the team and every fan was optimistic that this very well could be that magical year led by one of the best QB's in the past 20 years.
J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS was the main cheer of choice and it sure seemed like every fan in the stadium had there chance to lead the famous cheer for Gang Green. Although the Jets lost the game due to there lack of 3rd string depth, there first and 2nd string teams were on fire. Also, a new candidate for the backup QB came into play as Brad Ratliff had a bigger day then current backup Clemens.
The fans in the seats next to me were season ticket holders for the past 30 years and have been lifelong Jets fans and they said that "we've haven't felt this good about the QB situation since Broadway Joe!".... and trust me... that's a HUGE statement...
