Headlined By Alabama and Auburn, Reggie Ragland Is a Hot '12 Recruit

While writing this article it was hard to decide whether to write on Reggie Ragland for football or basketball. Ragland is special, special because he not only excels in one sport. He excels in both football and basketball which is not always common for a high school athlete.

Yes, I said high school athlete. Ragland, a 6'4" 245-pound tight end/linebacker attends Bob Jones High School (Huntsville, AL) Showing his versatility Ragland also plays small forward for Bob Jones.  He compares his football playing style to Ray Lewis.

"I just want to make the big plays, the smart plays, the right plays. I'm a play-maker and I'm out there to provide my team with the best opportunity to win."

Ragland although playing in two sports has a drive that isn't about being looked at by many colleges. He states family, not talent, as his drive. "To know that I can feed my family and provide them with the best future because of my skill set, that's what drive me."

When he's not on the field Ragland spends time  with friends and becomes a better student at the game."I'm always trying to watch film or find out about my next opponent, so I understand my job going into the next game."

Already with offers in both basketball and football from Alabama, Auburn, and Kentucky, Ragland hasn't stopped there. He's also heard from the likes of Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oregon, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee and USC.

His college decision is far away from being known. One thing that is certainly known, Ragland is a top talent, humble young man, and will certainly be a name to remember. The top colleges in the nation are after him and soon enough he'll bring one big smile to a happy college coach.
