The Oakland Raiders sealed the deal today as they beat the San Diego Chargers 35-27.
This ends a 13-game losing streak to their AFC West competitors, and they did so in a unorthodox fashion.
Despite allowing Phillip Rivers to throw for 431 yards and Malcolm Floyd to make 8 grabs for 213 yards, the Raiders found a way to win particularly through their special teams and big-play defense.
They recovered three fumbles, blocked two punts, and did whatever they could to stand victorious.
Moreover, Jason Campbell played well replacing the benched Bruce Gradkowski and Michael Bush rushed for over 100 yards in lieu of the injured Darren McFadden (hamstring).
This was their biggest game of the year so far, and they desperately needed to win it in order to prevent falling into a big hole.
So, congratulations to the Oakland Raiders for accomplishing their goal of winning their biggest division rivals. This could be the start to a new beginning.

The Tennessee Titans held off the Dallas Cowboys today, with a 34-27 victory.
This was a cumulative group effort from the team, as they excelled in nearly every phase of the game.
Vince Young made big throws, Chris Johnson had spectacular runs, and their defense came up big by picking off Tony Romo three times and sacking him six.
The Cowboys certainly have the talent, on paper, to be great. However, they've failed at putting it all together and it shows in their record.
They need to undergo some major changes if they want to get out of this slump and turn their season around.

The Arizona Cardinals have pulled up off an upset with a 30-20 victory over the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints.
Interestingly enough, the Cards lone offensive touchdown came on a fumble recovery and return by offensive lineman Levi Brown.
Aside from that, they relied on an opportunistic defense and strong special teams unit.
They forced Drew Brees to throw three interceptions, and Dominique Rodgers Cromartie scored on the last one which sealed the game for good.
This is a statement win for the Cardinals, and it gives them the sole lead in the NFC West.
Meanwhile, this is a disappointing loss for the Saints and their second in three games. They definitely have some key aspects of their game to work on before they face the Buccaneers because that game certainly won't be as easy as it's been in recent past.

The Arizona Cardinals are finding a way to win this ball game as they have the lead over the defending champion New Orleans Saints in the 4th quarter.
Strangely, yet not surprising, they've yet to score an offensive touchdown.
Instead, they're winning through special teams and opportunistic defense.
Kicker Jay Feely has nailed all three of his field goals, while they've scored twice on fumble returns and have picked off Drew Brees twice.
However, if they want to keep it up against, they'll need to get things going as the prolific Saints offense won't stay stagnant for long.
Larry Fitzgerald has seven receptions for 93 yards, but their running game is struggling. And, obviously, undrafted rookie free agent Max Hall isn't exactly a star quarterback.
This is setting up to be an intriguing matchup, and I'm anticipating a wild finish.

The Dallas Cowboys have come back in their game against the Tennessee Titans, and have it all knotted up at 17 in the 3rd quarter.
Heading into the half, they were down 17-3 primarily due to an inability to finish on offense.
However, Tony Romo has grabbed the reigns and taken complete control of this game as he's thrown for 245 yards and a pair of touchdown passes.
The problem so far, however, has been the 'Boys offensive line. They've struggled all year, and have allowed six sacks today.
Romo is a premier quarterback, and he's got arguably the best set of skill players to work with. As long as they can solve their issues up in the trenches, they should be fine.

The San Diego Chargers have come back to score 14 unanswered points, and head into halftime leading 14-12 over the Oakland Raiders.
An essential ingredient to their comeback has been the astounding play from quarterback Phillip Rivers.
Heading into this game, the Raiders ranked 3rd best in the league in terms of passing yards allowed with 143.8. Rivers has nearly doubled that in just one half as he's thrown an incredible 250 yards and doesn't seem like he'll be slowed down anytime soon.
His primary target, Malcolm Floyd, has been of great assistance as he's hauled in four receptions for 118 yards already.
As for the Raiders, while they've played excellent on special teams and even recovered two Chargers' fumbles on defense, they have struggled to generate any buzz on offense.
They currently have 61 yards of total offense, and have only compiled two first downs. Perhaps it's because they've only had the ball for 7:29.
Nonetheless, they need to turn things around quickly if they want any chance at ending their 13-game losing streak to their AFC West rivals.

The Oakland Raiders' special teams unit has come through and given them an early 12-0 lead over the San Diego Chargers.
In the first five minutes of the game, they blocked two punts and Sebastian Janakowski nailed a 50-yard field goal. One of the blocked kicks went for a safety, while the other was recovered by Hiram Eugene and returned for a score.
Moreover, their defense has already forced and recovered two fumbles.
The Raiders will need everyone to make plays like this if they hope to snap a 13-game losing streak to their AFC West division rivals, especially with Darren McFadden ruled out with a hamstring injury.
At the same time, they'll need to do a better job containing Malcolm Floyd as he's already hauled in two receptions for 89 yards.
In addition, their offense will need to do their fair share as well. So far, they've only managed 28 total yards. Of course, they've only had the ball for 2:45.
The Raiders currently lead 12-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.

The Washington Redskins (3-2) sealed the deal over the Green Bay Packers (3-2), with a thrilling 16-13 overtime victory as Graham Gano kicked the game-winning 33 yard field goal.
Donovan McNabb played extremely well today, and lead the team down the field on their final drive. He finished with 357 yards and a touchdown.
In the end, though, it was their defense that became the x-factor.
The unit forced two turnovers, and constantly wrecked havoc in the Packers backfield as they registered 4 sacks and a whopping 8 hits on Rodgers.
For the Packers, Aaron Rodgers was sharp, but his interception to Laron Landry on their final possession in overtime proved to be the most costly mistake of the game.
On the bright side, Brandon Jackson really stepped up and amassed 115 yards on the ground on only ten carries.
Nonetheless, the 'Skins are off to a great start, and truly made a statement today with this win which will surely earn them a lot of respect around the league.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have stole one on the road as they beat the Cincinnati Bengals 24-21 on a game-winning 31 yard field goal by Connor Barth.
Even though the Bengals are widely considered the more talented team, their unnecessary mistakes killed them in this one.
Carson Palmer, who was once an elite quarterback, gave up three costly interceptions and posted a passer rating of 58.7
Moreover, they committed nine penalties for 60 yards, and only converted 4 of their 13 3rd down attempts.
Overall, this was just a sloppy game on the Bengals part and the Buccaneers capitalized on it.
Despite allowing 144 yards on the ground to Cedric Benson, they prevailed with a gritty mentality and a strong performance from Josh Freeman.
For a team that only won 2 games last year, and weren't expected to be much better, the Bucs have been one of the biggest surprises of the season.
It'll certainly be interesting to see if they can keep it rolling and be a major player in the NFC South race.

The Indianapolis Colts (3-2) were able to persevere as they beat out the Kansas City Chiefs (3-1) with a final score of 19-9, awarding them their first loss of the season.
Peyton Manning had a rare poor game, as he threw an interception and was unable to throw a touchdown.
Nonetheless, they were able to win because he got some help from his running game and his defense was able to limit the Chiefs to only nine points.
Moreover, Adam Vinateri came through by chipping in four field goals, two of which were from 40+ yards out.
The victory ends the Chiefs bid for perfection, leaving no remaining undefeated clubs in the NFL.
Parity has obviously come into play this season, in comparison to previous years. For example, the Colts were in position to finish 16-0 last year, had it not been for a decision to hold back by Bill Polian.
I personally feel it makes the league much more interesting, because it means any team can win on any given day. I think we could certainly be in for a close race all the way to the wire this year.

The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2) beat the Buffalo Bills (0-5) today in an impressive comeback fashion.
After being down 13-3, the Jags came back and outscored the Bills 33-14 to win with a final score of 36-27.
Quarterback David Garrard was the catalyst behind the victory, as he threw three touchdown tosses, two of which went to tight end Mercedes Lewis.
Moreover, kicker Josh Scobee played a big factor today as he nailed all five of his field goal attempts.
The Jaguars, who upset the Colts last week, are off to a good start and it'll be interesting to see if they can keep it up.
On the flip side, the Bills are one of the three remaining winless teams, with the 49ers (vs. Eagles tonight on SNF) and Panthers being the others.
In my opinion, they are the worst team in football and they demonstrated their inability to finish strong today.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Lloyd is having yet another spectacular performance, this time against the Baltimore Ravens and their top ranked pass defense.
After being shutout for most of the first half, he's come back to make four receptions for 91 yards including a 42 yard touchdown grab.
Before joining the Broncos last year, Lloyd has spent the first six seasons of his career with the 49ers, Redskins, and Bears. He's been mediocre at best, but appears to have found a nitch with head coach Josh McDaniels in the Mile-High City.
Head coach Josh McDaniels knew that he had to find some way to replace Brandon Marshall, and it seems as if Lloyd may be the answer.
So far, he's been one of the biggest surprises of the season as he already has 545 receiving yards.
In terms of fantasy, he's ranked No. 24 overall on Yahoo Sports and has become one of the hottest commodities on the waiver wire market.
It'll certainly be interesting to see if he can keep up this Cinderella-esque story, and become the next Pro Bowl receiver.

Detroit Lions quarterback Shaun Hill has had a remarkable outing against the St. Louis Rams today so far.
Approaching midway through just the third quarter, Hill has already thrown for 181 yards and 3 touchdown passes.
Hill has replaced Matthew Stafford (right shoulder) in the starting lineup over the past three weeks and has been a pleasant surprise during which he's thrown for 991 yards.
Even though he's thrown seven interceptions this season, he's been able to utilize the his full arsenal of weapons and is now at 8 touchdowns on the year. The quality I've personally admired the most is his ability to scan the field and spread the ball evenly, which keeps the opposing defenses honest.
In terms of fantasy, he's ranked 12th in quarterbacks (53rd overall) on Yahoo Sports. However, he's only owned in 29% of leagues. Therefore, if you're looking for a quality backup option or a filler during a bye week, I'd take a long look at Hill especially because a timeline on Stafford's return is unclear.

Cleveland Browns quarterback Seneca Wallace suffered an ankle injury during today's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Wallace was hurt after being sacked by Falcons defensive end John Abarham. He hopped off the field with his own ability and was evaluated by the Browns' medical staff. During halftime, they took him into the locker room and he did not return.
There hasn't been any official release regarding a diagnostic, but I'm sure that tests are currently being performed.
Wallace played rather well before getting injured, as he completed 11 of his 15 pass attempts for 139 yards and a touchdown.
In his replacement, Delhomme has been 4 of 8 for only 29 yards with a dismal passer rating of 58.9
Delhomme severely spraned his ankle in Week 1, and was marked inactive for the past three games. It's still yet to be seen if he will be reclaim his full-time starting role.
All I know is that if I were calling the shots, I'd hope that Wallace can return to action as soon as possible.
The Falcons currently lead the Browns 13-10 with 4:46 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

Detroit Lions Stefan Logan returned a kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown today against the St. Louis Rams to start off the second quarter.
The return ties the Lions' record for longest touchdown in franchise history. The mark was previously set by Terry Fair in a 1998 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which was also a kickoff return.
After hauling in the kick, Logan briefly paused before running out of the endzone. Despite virtually no room to work with in his own territory, he was able to squeeze by; find an opening; and break free down the right sideline.
Steve Spagnola said that this guy could 'kill them' in special teams, and he did exactly that today.
The score put the Lions up on top 10-3, and they currently lead 24-6 at the end of the half.
