Bears Looking At Alfonso Boone
Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Chicago Bears could bring back free agent defensive lineman Alfonso Boone. According to Biggs, the Bears have had internal discussions about adding Boone.
Biggs suggests the team may release youngster Marcus Harrison if the sign Boone. Harrison, who has a similar size to Boone, has been inactive for three games this season.
Releasing Boone was a hard move for the Chargers, who added safety Tyrone Culver with his roster spot.
“That one is tough,” Norv Turner said. “Our (decision) wasn’t based on Alfonso or where we are on the defensive line. It is just we’ve got so many areas in the kicking game … and at linebacker and in the secondary where we brought in three or four players. We brought in five players in the last two weeks to try to shore up some situations. So, that was a hard one. Alfonso has been great for us.”
