One thing has been completely obvious through the first two weeks of the Boston Celtics preseason: This team has a great sense of locker room chemistry .
Viral videos have been popping up over the past couple of days of the team engaging in various antics that show just how closely knit the 2010-11 team is.
Whether it’s Nate Robinson doing sprints in Shaquille O’Neal's sneakers or Paul Pierce’s iPhone video (caution: language) of Kevin Garnett, Glen Davis, Lil’ Him and Shaq dancing in Halloween masks to Rick Ross’ In the Paint, the vibe the team is putting out is both fun and positive.
Even Nate’s “salt water” prank on Shaq was eventually well received and everyone was able to laugh about it in the end.
Lastly, during one of the Celtics first preseason games, Shaq could be seen laughing hysterically at Ray Allen’s story, with Garnett adding side commentary to the mix. The fun is clearly seeping out of the locker room and onto the bench.
If locker room chemistry tells us anything, it’s that personal sacrifices, with regard to statistics and playing time can be made, without issue, if the greater good of the team is kept in mind.
Luckily, all signs point to the Boston Celtics being a team that enjoy being around one another. This should only help their on the court play, as their good times off it will help produce trust and confidence in one another.
Now if only there was a way to get Semih Erden into the mix, the team would be unstoppable.
