Week Four had a lot of excitement and a lot of down to the wire finishes. The Jacksonville Jaguars upset the Indianapolis Colts 31-28, thanks to a game-winning 59-yard field goal by Josh Scobee.
The Atlanta Falcons also won their game against the San Francisco 49ers, 16-14, thanks to a last-second field goal by K Matt Bryant. That loss dropped the 49ers to 0-4 and has them as one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL to start the season.
As always, the first five games are the games I have identified as the best matchups of the week, followed by the rest of the games. My record for the season is 35-27.
1) Denver Broncos (2-2) at Baltimore Ravens (3-1) – This is a very tough game to pick. The Baltimore Ravens allow the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks (7.7) and receivers (8.1) and are fifth against tight ends (4.4).
The Broncos have relied on the passing game to start the season, with QB Kyle Orton having a remarkable 1,419 passing yards. Only former St. Louis Rams QB Kurt Warner had more passing yards in the first four games of the season, back in 2000. The Broncos will need Orton to be sharp in this game if they have any hope of winning it.
I know the situation is different from year to year, as are some of the players. Last year the 6-0 Broncos traveled to Baltimore to face a 3-3 Ravens team. The Ravens won 30-7 and held the Broncos to 134 yards passing. I do not think the Broncos match up very well with the Ravens; look for the Ravens to win this game at home. Winner: Baltimore...
